Ítem Acceso abierto Perception of sleep quality in a patient of the intensive care unit of the Javier Prado Clinic.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-11-08) Mercado Lezama, Yesenia; Bastidas Solis, Miriam CeciliaIntroduction: Patients admitted to intensive care units are subjected to multiple physiological problems and are exposed to environmental factors that contribute to prolonged hospital stays, delaying recovery. Difficulty achieving sleep rest is a problem for these patients as it causes instability and even agitation in some cases, disrupting their sleep cycle and altering physiological values such as blood pressure, respiration, and heart rate, which increases morbidity and prolongs their stay. Objective: To determine the quality of sleep perception in patients in the intensive care unit at the Clínica Javier Prado. Methodology: A descriptive, non-experimental, cross-sectional study will be conducted. The study sample will consist of 185 individuals hospitalized in the ICU, who will complete the Richards Campbell Sleep Questionnaire, which includes 5 indicators: deep sleep, sleep onset, sleep interruptions, percentage of wake time, and sleep quality. The data will be tabulated and statistically processed using the SPSS 24 software.
