Publicación Acceso abierto Correlación entre el índice de masa corporal con el colesterol y los triglicéridos en alumnos ingresantes a una Universidad Estatal. Lima, 2015(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Meza Merino, Fernanda Veronica; Puse Adanaque, Juan Carlos; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelA descriptive, correlational, prospective, cross-sectional, and non-experimental study was conducted to determine the correlation between Body Mass Index, cholesterol, and triglycerides in incoming students at a Lima State University in 2015. The population consisted of 100 young students from the following majors: Business Administration, Environmental Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Systems Engineering. 41% were female and 59% male, aged 18 to 25 years. Data were processed and analyzed using SPSS version 21. For the bivariate analysis, the study variables were correlated using Fisher's exact test. It was found that 50.0% had a normal BMI; 38.0% are overweight and 12.0% are obese. Regarding total cholesterol, 54.0% have normal levels, 27.0% are at moderate risk, and 19.0% have hypercholesterolemia. Regarding triglycerides, 63.0% have normal levels, 25.0% are at moderate risk, and 12.0% have hypertriglyceridemia. When correlating BMI with cholesterol, a statistically significant relationship was found (p = 0.037). Likewise, when correlating BMI with triglycerides (p = 0.046), however, when correlating triglyceride levels with cholesterol (p = 0.719), no statistically significant relationship was obtained. The study determined that although 50.0% have a normal BMI, there is a statistically significant correlation between BMI and cholesterol and triglycerides. Therefore, it is necessary to promote a better lifestyle among university students.Publicación Acceso abierto Reducción de costos y del proceso administrativo para mejorar el acceso de nutrición parenteral en la Unidad de Soporte Metabólico Farmaconutricional Especializado del Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo periodo 2019–2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-21) Meza Merino, Fernanda Veronica; Justil Guerrero, Hugo JesúsThis research originated from the outsourcing of parenteral nutrition (PN) at the National Dos de Mayo Hospital (HNDM), which involved high economic resource consumption and delayed acquisition for patients under the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) in the pre- and post-operative stages. Methodology: It employed a quantitative approach, applied type, pre-experimental, and retrospective design. The study sample consisted of 1,587 units of parenteral nutrition formulated over 24 months during the 2019-2020 period. Results: The findings show that the reduction in costs and administrative processes improved significantly (p=0.006), enhancing access to parenteral nutrition in the specialized pharmacological nutritional metabolic support unit at the National Dos de Mayo Hospital for the 2019-2020 period. However, the reduction in parenteral nutrition costs was not significant (p=0.158). On the other hand, the reduction in the administrative process for parenteral nutrition was significant (p=0.001), with the average number of days for administrative processing decreasing by -13.8 days between 2019 and 2020.
