Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors related to squamous intraepithelial lesions of the cervix in women treated at the Arzobispo Loayza national hospital 2020.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-14) Miñope Medina, Melkin Eliezer; García Vásquez, Carlos HugoSquamous intraepithelial lesions are a global health problem among women, typically arising from an STI caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). However, other factors contribute to the development of these lesions. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between risk factors and squamous intraepithelial lesions of the cervix in women treated at the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital in 2020. The study population consisted of all cervicovaginal cytology slides with a positive diagnosis of squamous intraepithelial lesions and their corresponding clinical histories. A statistically significant relationship was found between squamous intraepithelial lesions and age group, marital status, economic level, education level, number of sexual partners, age at the start of sexual activity, age at the first pregnancy, number of pregnancies, use of contraceptive methods, Pap smear history, STI history, family history of cancer, and personal medical history. Conclusion: In this study population, squamous intraepithelial lesions are associated with sociodemographic, gynecological-obstetric risk factors, STI history, family history of cancer, and personal medical history.
