    Effectiveness of the activation of the ictus code for the decrease of the morbimortality of patients attended in emergency services

    Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the stroke code activation for reducing morbidity and mortality in patients attended in emergency services. Material and Methods: A systematic review of international research was carried out, obtained from databases: Epistemonikos, PubMed, Elsevier, Google Scholar, and Scielo, analyzed through the Grade system to determine the level of evidence. The search was performed using DECS and MESH descriptors for Spanish and English searches, respectively. 60% of the reviewed articles come from France, Spain, and China, with 20% each, and the remaining 40% come from the USA, Korea, Italy, and Taiwan, respectively. Results: 100% of the evidence indicates that stroke code activation is effective in reducing morbidity and mortality in patients attended in emergency services. Conclusions: 10 out of 10 pieces of evidence demonstrate that stroke code activation is effective in reducing morbidity and mortality in patients attended in emergency services.
