Lima 2017-2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-25) Montalvan Escobedo, César Augusto; Neyra Rivera, Carlos DavidThe general objective of the present investigation was to determine to what extent forensic odorology improves the functional performance of the Canine Police Department of the National Police of Peru, Lima 2017-2021. Considering a non-experimental method, with a quantitative approach, applied type, descriptive level, correlational and causal scope, crosssectional. The population consisted of 102 police officers from the Canine Police Department of the National Police of Peru; and the sample of 81 officials, who were selected considering inclusion and exclusion criteria, and through simple random sampling; The technique used was the survey and the instrument a self-elaborated questionnaire validated by expert judgment, and subjected to reliability with Cronbach's Alpha. After field work, results were obtained which were analyzed using SPSS software version 26.0. Finally, it was concluded that forensic odorology does significantly improve the functional performance of the Canine Police Department of the National Police of Peru, Lima 2017- 2021, whose support was based on the result obtained by the Spearman test (Rho = 0.743; Sig. = 0.000), being a medium positive correlation, in the same way it was demonstrated that the scientific, legal-legal, practical-social, and philosophical dimension of forensic odorology improves the functional performance of DEPOLCAN-PNP in Lima 2017-2021.
