Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the Sterrad hydrogen peroxide plasma method for optimizing sterilization of temperature-sensitive medical devices(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-25) Muñoz Mendoza, Margot Alejandrina; Zegarra López, Mariela Roxana; Matta Solis, Hernán HugoThe objective is to systematically analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of the sterrad hydrogen peroxide plasma method to optimize the sterilization of thermosensitive medical devices. Material and Methods: The Systematic Review is an Observational and Retrospective Research Design, Subjected to Critical Selection Using the Grade Evaluation System for the Identification of the Degree of Evidence in the Following Databases: Pudmed, Redalyc, Cochrane, Sciencederect, Researchgte, Bvs And Lylacs. Of the 5 Articles Reviewed, 60% were Randomized Clinical Trials and 40% were Quantitative Studies of Process Costs. 60% of the studies were carried out in the US, 20% in Italy and 20% in Austria. Results of the evidence found, 100% of the studies conclude that the sterrad hydrogen peroxide plasma method is effective in optimizing the sterilization of thermosensitive medical instruments and is directly related to the decontamination method previously used. In the Cost Evaluation (40%) it is obtained that despite the high cost of the sterrad system, in the long term it shows economic effectiveness in technology. Conclusion: The Sterrad Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma Method is Effective in Optimizing the Sterilization of Thermosensitive Medical Devices.
