Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between knowledge and practice of the kangaroo mother method in mothers of newborn children who are attended at the Virgen del carmen de Chorrillos mother and child center, Lima-2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-28) Muñoz Rivera, Ana Patricia; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoIntroduction: The Kangaroo Mother Method (KMC) is a parenting technique used for newborns, preterm or low birth weight infants that consists of bringing the baby into skin-toskin contact with his mother or another caregiver for several hours a day, thus imitating the kangaroo nursery environment; it emerges as a beneficial and affordable alternative to conventional methods of neonatal care. Objective: "To determine how knowledge is related to the practice of the mother kangaroo method in mothers of newborns cared for at the Centro Materno Infantil Virgen del Carmen de Chorrillos, Lima - 2023". Methods: Applied, hypothetical-deductive, quantitative, non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional research. We have chosen to work with a population and an intentional sample by convenience of 80 parturients with newborn babies that will be attended at the CMI. We will use a survey with a structured questionnaire and observation with a practice guide, which have been validated and reliable to quantify the variables. The data will be processed in SPSS and the hypotheses will be verified using the statistical test of Spearman's correlation coefficient.
