In order to collect information and create instruments, the objective of this study was to determine the relationship between nursing care and knowledge about the management of the central venous catheter in adult patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Arzobispo Loayza Hospital. A study with similar characteristics, entitled "Nursing knowledge and care of central venous catheters in adult intensive care units" had study validity with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.83 and a probability of validity and reliability of the instrument of 0.053., test obtained by Cronbach's alpha coefficient and the alpha value equal to 0.83, which is reliable. The present research study is developed, in order to raise awareness and strengthen the knowledge of the management of central venous catheters to licensed nursing staff who work in adult intensive care units.
