The methodology was basic, with a non-experimental design and a correlational scope. The sample consisted of 200 students from 1st to 5th year of secondary school in an educational institution in South Lima. The Internet Addiction Scale (EAIL) by Lam et al. (2010) and the Academic Procrastination Scale (EPA) by Busko (1998) were used. The results found that internet addiction and academic procrastination are positively correlated (rho = .162). Additionally, it was found that internet addiction is associated with dimensions of academic procrastination such as academic self-regulation (rho = -.250) and task delay (rho = .242). Based on these findings, it is concluded that excessive use of the internet is related to procrastination in adolescents.
