Ítem Acceso abierto Nutritional Status of children under 5 years of age who are cared for at the Centro de Salud Materno Infantil “MAGDALENA” and its association with the level of knowledge about infant feeding of their mothers or caregivers(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-22) Nizama Diaz, Dayan Caroline; Lujan Torrealva, Franco SilvioGeneral Objective: To determine the nutritional status of children under 5 years old attending the “MAGDALENA” Maternal and Child Health Center and its association with the level of knowledge about child nutrition among their mothers or caregivers. Materials and Method: The study will be descriptive, with a quantitative approach, cross-sectional, and non-experimental. A questionnaire with 10 questions and a single response option on child nutrition will be used to assess the knowledge of mothers or caregivers. The knowledge level will be classified as high (15-11 pts.), medium (10-6 pts.), or low (5-0 pts.). Results: The Spearman's rank test was used to measure the relationship between the two quantitative variables. The association degree between the two variables was calculated on each scale (-1 and 1). A statistical hypothesis was tested with a p-value of 0.9815 at a 5% significance level, allowing us to conclude that there is insufficient statistical evidence to reject the null hypothesis. Conclusion: With a p-value of 0.9815 at a 5% significance level, we conclude that there is no significant relationship between the knowledge level about nutrition and the nutritional status of the child.
