    Determinación del cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción en el servicio de Medicina General del Hospital Municipal "Los Olivos" del periodo setiembre–diciembre de 2016

    The objective of this thesis was to identify and evaluate the deficiencies in compliance with Good Prescribing Practices (GPP) in the General Medicine Service of the 'Los Olivos' Municipal Hospital from September to December 2016. The study was cross-sectional, observational, and prospective. The Manual of Good Prescribing Practices from the General Directorate of Medicines, Supplies, and Drugs (DIGEMID), the WHO Manual of Good Prescribing Practices, and the Medication Appropriateness Index (MAI) were used to create our data collection form, taking the essential characteristics required for each prescription as reference points to measure the magnitude of inadequate prescribing. A sample of 1,250 prescriptions originating from patients in the General Medicine Service was evaluated. Results showed that 93.5% complied with patient data, 54.5% with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), 56.5% with the mention of the pharmaceutical form, 72.5% indicated the concentration of the active ingredient, 64.5% indicated the dose to be administered, 84.5% indicated the expiration date, 66.5% presented legible handwriting, and 97.50% included the prescriber's stamp and signature.
