    Effectiveness of manual washing in the complete removal of biological remains of the surgical instrumentation

    Material and Methods: The study type is quantitative, and the design is a systematic review, obtained from the following databases: Dialnet, Scielo, Google Scholar, and Medline. Of the 5 articles analyzed, 60% (3/5) are experimental, 20% (1/5) is quantitative, and 20% (1/5) is a systematic review. In terms of the quality of evidence, 80% was found to be high, and 20% was medium. According to the strength of recommendation, 80% is strong, and 20% is weak. The countries where the studies were conducted are the United Kingdom (20%), the United States (20%), Mexico (20%), China (20%), and Peru (20%). Conclusions: It is concluded that 5 out of 5 articles demonstrate that manual washing is effective for the complete removal of biological debris from surgical instruments. Of these, 4 out of 5 articles demonstrate the effectiveness of biological debris removal through the combination of manual and automated washing of surgical instruments, emphasizing that manual washing must be performed prior to any cleaning process.
