Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between the posterior discrepancy with the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with Skeletal Malocclusion I, II and III, attended at the Odontoz Prime clinic period 2019 – 2021, Lima 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-01-28) Oliveira Valverde, Kiara Yesebel; Chanamé Marín, Ann RosemaryThe study aimed to determine whether posterior discrepancy is related to the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with skeletal malocclusion types I, II, and III, treated at the Odontoz Prime clinic from 2019 to 2021, Lima 2021. The study is observational, analytical, and cross-sectional. We used cephalometric and panoramic radiographs of 141 patients aged 13 to 31 years, employing specific cephalometric measurements for each variable: skeletal malocclusion (APDI), posterior discrepancy (A’-6/A’-P), and the inclination of the occlusal plane (FH-POP). The researcher was trained and conducted calibration with the interobserver Kappa index: APDI (1.00), interclass index A'P (0.958), A'6 (0.950), FH-POP (M) (0.855). The statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25, with the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test showing an abnormal distribution. Correlations were evaluated using the Spearman coefficient. In descriptive results by sex, females had 31.2% posterior discrepancy, and in terms of age, there was a predominance in patients aged 13 to 20 years. Inferential analysis showed no statistically significant results between posterior discrepancy and the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with skeletal malocclusion: class I (p=0.457), class II (p=0.068), class III (p=0.237). This study concludes that there is no relationship between posterior discrepancy and the inclination of the occlusal plane in patients with skeletal malocclusion types I, II, and III.
