Ítem Acceso abierto Self-care of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment at the San Juan Masías-SJL clinic, 2019.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-01-04) Orosco Huaraya, Marleny; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaObjective: Determine the self-care level of patients undergoing hemodialysis at the San Juan Masías clinic – SJL, 2019. Materials and Methods: Quantitative approach, descriptive design, and cross-sectional, non-experimental, with a total population of 120 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The instrument used was a questionnaire called "Self-care Assessment of Hemodialysis Patients" by Cabrera M., consisting of two parts: sociodemographic data and 22 items with closed-ended questions on the dimensions being studied. Results: Regarding the general self-care level, 89.17% had an inadequate level, 10.00% had a slightly inadequate level, and 0.83% had an adequate level. In the hygiene and skin care dimension, 74.17% had an inadequate level, 24.17% had a slightly inadequate level, and 1.67% had an adequate level. In the treatment and vascular access care dimension, 95.83% had an inadequate level, 3.33% had a slightly inadequate level, and 0.83% had an adequate level. In the rest, recreation, and sleep dimension, 74.17% had an inadequate level, 19.17% had an adequate level, and 6.67% had a slightly inadequate level. In the interpersonal relationships dimension, 80.00% had a slightly inadequate level, 10.83% had an inadequate level, and 9.17% had an adequate level. Conclusions: The self-care level of hemodialysis patients at the San Juan Masías-SJL clinic, 2019, was inadequate.
