Publicación Acceso abierto Determinación del perfil coronario y su relación con los parámetros circunferencia de cintura e índice de masa corporal en personas adultas del distrito de La Victoria. Abril–julio 2016(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-03-26) Ortiz Arias, Rigoberto Carlos; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe study was conducted in 111 adults from the district of La Victoria in 2016. The research design was descriptive, correlational, observational, prospective, cross-sectional, and non-experimental, applying the Chi-square test. Findings showed that 29% of participants presented hypercholesterolemia, 7% elevated LDL-c, 35% high-risk HDL-c, and 45% hypertriglyceridemia. Regarding BMI, 17% were classified as obese. For waist circumference (WC), 63% were at the action level. Among adults with obesity, 32% had hypercholesterolemia, 63% elevated LDL-c, 53% high-risk HDL-c, and 68% hypertriglyceridemia. Regarding WC at the action level, 31% presented hypercholesterolemia, 54% hypertriglyceridemia, and 43% low HDL-c, with no significant association with LDL-c levels. A relationship was found between coronary risk profile and BMI, while WC was associated with cholesterol, triglycerides, and HDL-c, but not with LDL-c. In conclusion, the coronary risk profile of residents of La Victoria indicates a moderate probability of developing cardiovascular diseases, with a direct association between coronary profile and BMI, and between WC and the biochemical parameters of cholesterol, triglycerides, and HDL-c.
