Factors associated with iron deficiency anemia in Peruvian pregnant women, Endes 2020

The general objective of this work was to analyze the factors associated with iron deficiency anemia in Peruvian pregnant women, ENDES 2020. The study was observational with a correlational scope and a cross-sectional design through a secondary analysis with data from the Demographic Survey database. and Family Health from 2020 to 721 pregnant women. The documentary analysis technique was used to later analyze the data through contingency tables and logistic regression. The findings were that 25.88% of pregnant women have anemia, anemia was associated with the Sierra region (OR: 3.29), primary (OR: 2.91), rural (OR: 1.65), high wealth index (OR: 0.36), with partner (OR: 2.10), 2nd trimester (OR: 2.76), iron supplement (OR: 0.36) and natural water (OR: 2.48). It is concluded that the pregnant women who have anemia are those who come from the sierra region, jungle, those who do not have education, those who live in rural areas, those who do not have a high wealth index, those who have a partner, those who are in the second or third trimester of their gestational age, those who consume an iron supplement and those who use natural water.
