Ítem Acceso abierto Nursing knowledge and practice on aspiration of secretions in closed circuit in the ICU at Huacho Hospital(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-01-30) Osorio Astuquipan, Lizet Nishely; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleClosed-circuit aspiration of secretions is performed in the ICU and is of utmost importance because it allows the lives of critically ill patients admitted due to lack of oxygen to be safeguarded. Its importance to know about the correct practice of suctioning secretions in a closed circuit will avoid complications to the patient's health. Objective: objective to determine the relationship between knowledge and nursing practice on closed-circuit aspiration of secretions in the Intensive Care Unit of a Hospital in Huacho. Material and methods: The approach will be quantitative, observational and correlational, non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population will consist of 35 nurses who work in the Intensive Care Unit of a Hospital in Huacho. To measure knowledge, the Level of Knowledge of Aspiration of Secretions in Closed Circuit questionnaire developed by Moreno will be applied, with validity 0.97 and reliability 0.88 measured by Cronbach's Alpha. For the evaluation of nursing practice in Closed Circuit Aspiration of Secretions, a Checklist developed by Cabello will be applied with a validity of 0.87 and a reliability of 0.91 measured by the KR20 test. The instruments will be administered in person, with prior authorization of informed consent. A descriptive and correlational statistical analysis will be carried out.
