Ítem Acceso abierto Sociocultural factors and attitudes of premature parents towards the kangaroo mother method in a neonatology service of a national hospital in Lima-2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-06-19) Otiniano Lopez, Roz Mery; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoThe objective of the study was to determine the relationship between sociocultural factors and the attitude of the parents of the premature towards the kangaroo mother method, in a neonatology service of a national hospital, Lima-2019. The method: It is a quantitative, descriptive - correlational and cross-sectional research of both variables, the technique was the interview, directed to the parents of premature babies in the neonatology service, the instrument was the questionnaire respectively for adherence, the type of sampling that was carried out was simple random probabilistic and consisted of 360 mothers and fathers. Results: Statistically, no significant relationship was found between sociocultural factors and the attitude of parents of premature babies towards the kangaroo mother method in a Neonatology Service of a National Hospital, Lima 2019. Conclusions: From the results obtained, it is clear that there is no significant relationship between sociocultural factors and the attitude of parents of premature babies towards the kangaroo mother method. Although the relationship between sex and the attitude of the parents of premature babies towards the kangaroo mother method is positive, it is low and not significant. Similarly, the marital status and the attitude of the parents of premature babies towards the kangaroo mother method do not have a significant relationship; neither do their occupation and family income. However, it is worth noting that there is a non-significant negative relationship between receiving support from the family environment and the attitude of the parents of premature babies towards the kangaroo mother method. Finally, regarding the level of education and the attitude of the parents of premature babies towards the kangaroo mother method, a significant relationship was not found either. With this evidence found, it is possible to affirm that there is no relationship between sociocultural factors and the attitude of the parents of premature babies towards the kangaroo mother method.
