Material and Method: The study is quantitative, descriptive, and correlational, with a cross-sectional design. Two instruments were used: the Family Apgar Test by Smilkstein to assess family functionality, and a custom instrument based on a Likert scale to measure alcohol consumption in adolescents aged 14 to 18. The study population consisted of 75 students. Results: The study found a direct relationship between alcohol consumption and family functionality, with a Contingency Correlation test result of 0.385. Regarding family functionality, 38.7% showed mild dysfunction, 26.7% showed severe dysfunction, 20% showed moderate dysfunction, and only 14.7% had no dysfunction. In terms of alcohol consumption, 88% reported drinking alcohol, while 12% did not. The conclusion is that there is a direct relationship between family functionality and alcohol consumption. Most adolescent students have consumed alcohol at some point. Regarding family functionality, a higher percentage of households exhibited mild dysfunction, followed by severe dysfunction, with a small percentage of families having normal functionality.
