Millions of people are affected by the global prevalence of psychoactive drugs. This phenomenon has a significant negative impact on public health, safety and general well-being of societies. The objective was to analyze the prevalence of psychoactive drugs seized from detainees examined in the Criminalistics area - Chiclayo. The method used was basic, inductive, quantitative and non-experimental. The sample was selected based on what was seized in a period of 7 months, from January to July 2023. The instrument used to collect the data was a checklist. The result was that, during the 7-month period, from January to July, the month of July, with 31.3%, was the month with the most records of experts with possession of marijuana, this being the most confiscated drug with 52%. 37.3% of the expert reports correspond to people between 18 and 25 years old. Regarding sex, 56.7% are men. Regarding marital status, 65.3% are single, and in relation to educational level, 62% have completed secondary school. Finally, the worrying presence of these products in society is concluded. These results highlight the importance of implementing comprehensive strategies to prevent consumption and addiction treatment to protect public health, promote citizen safety, and improve the quality of life of the community.
