Material and Method: quantitative, descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional approach. The sample was 105 students who abandoned their studies in two semesters of study (period 2016 I and 2016 II). A validated instrument was used with Cronbach's alpha with a value of r = 0.853, Spearman's Rho of sig. 0.049, less than 0.05, therefore there is a relationship between academic performance and university dropout. Results: it was found that 54% have low academic performance, 44% have average performance and 2% have excellent performance. On the other hand, among the dropout factors that were found, the economic factor was the one that prevailed in 46%, followed by the academic factor in 32% and the social cultural factor in 22%. Additionally, it is important to verify the compliance with certain standards that guarantee their validity. It is observed that, currently, there are professionals who do not adhere to practices in accordance with biosecurity measures. Therefore, this research aims to determine the relationship between knowledge of biosecurity measures and the level of compliance among nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Cayetano Heredia Hospital in 2022. This project has a quantitative, descriptive, prospective, cross-sectional, and observational approach, with a correlational research design. The population and sample consisted of 80 nurses from the ICU area at Cayetano Heredia Hospital, using a questionnaire as a technique to measure the variable of knowledge level, and an observation guide to measure the degree of compliance. These instruments were approved by experts, and their reliability was tested using the Kuder-Richardson coefficient of 0.81, demonstrating the reliability of the instruments to measure the variables, while complying with ethical aspects.
