Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review. The search was limited to full-text articles, and the final selection included 10 articles. Two articles were from Brazil, China, and Spain, respectively, while one article was from Japan, Thailand, Mexico, and the United States. The majority of the studies (70%) were randomized controlled trials and originated from China, Spain, Japan, Thailand, the United States, and Brazil, with the first five contributing one article each and Brazil contributing two. Additionally, one quasi-experimental study from Mexico, one cohort study from Spain, and one case-control study from China were included. Results: 90% of the analyzed articles state that educational interventions are effective in controlling glycosylated hemoglobin in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.
