Publicación Acceso abierto Efectividad del servicio de orientación, consejería e intervención breve sobre la mejora en calidad de vida en pacientes con consumo de drogas, atendidos en los establecimientos de salud de la región Callao, en el año 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-31) Pajuelo Ponce, Jean Diego Giordano; Hermoza Moquillaza, Rocío VictoriaObjective: To determine the effectiveness of the orientation, counseling and brief intervention service on the improvement of quality of life in patients with drug use in health facilities in the Callao region, 2021. Method: This was a quasi-experimental study, under a quantitative, longitudinal and prospective measurement method. A nonprobabilistic purposive sampling was carried out, consisting of 70 patients who attended the Guidance, Counseling and Brief Intervention Service, with occasional or habitual drug use. To evaluate the effectiveness of the service, the Test for the Evaluation of Quality of Life in Addicts to Psychoactive Substances (TECVASP) was applied in two stages, pre- and post-treatment. Results: It was obtained that the patients evaluated, before starting the intervention, reached an average score of 73.76 in the assessment of their quality of life; while, after the intervention, their average score was 82. Presenting a statistically significant favorable difference in the average scores before and after the intervention (p<0.05). Conclusions: It is concluded that the guidance, counseling and brief intervention service is effective achieving an improvement in the quality of life of patients with drug use.
