Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and self-care practices of ostomy patients in the Surgery Service of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, Lima 2022.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-03) Palomino Calle, Teófila; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoThe present research study entitled: "Knowledge and Self-care Practices of Ostomy Patients of the Surgery Service of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, Lima 2022, has the Objective: To analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge and the self-care practices of ostomy patients of the Surgery Service of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, Lima 2022. Material and method: The study is of an applicative type, quantitative approach, descriptive correlational level, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The population will be made up of 72 ostomy patients who attend the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, selected as a sample, considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Two questionnaires will be used as instruments to measure the study variables. The first will measure the knowledge of ostomy patients about self-care through 15 questions with multiple choice options, while the second will measure the self-care practices of ostomy patients through 28 questions with dichotomous choice options, measuring four dimensions: Changing and frequency of changing the colostomy bag, Hygiene of the colostomy bag, Measurement of the stoma to adapt the device and use of skin protectors.Ítem Acceso abierto Risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in individuals visiting the triage area of Breña Health Center, Lima — 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-07-18) Palomino Calle, Teófila; Matta Solis, Hernán HugoObjective: Determine the relationship between the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular in people who attend the triage area of the Breña Health Center, Lima - 2019. Materials and methods: It was a study with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, descriptive in nature. cross. We worked with a sample of 150 patients aged 40 to 78 years who were overweight and/or reported total blood cholesterol levels above normal values who attended the triage area of the Breña Health Center. The data collection technique was the survey and the instruments used were the FINDRISC questionnaire and the CVR calculator. Results: There is a significant relationship between the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk in people who attend the triage area of the Breña Health Center (p < 0.05). Regarding the risk of type 2 diabetes, the slightly elevated level predominated (40.7%); followed by the moderate level (30.7%); high level (20%); and low level (8.7%). Regarding cardiovascular risk, low risk predominated (79.3%); followed by moderate risk (16%); very high risk (2.7%); and high risk (2%). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
