Materials and Methods: Systematic review of 10 articles on the effectiveness of using intra and extrahospital triage models by trained health personnel to improve care in emergency and urgent care services, cited in Pubmed, Sciencedirect, Redalyc, Cochrane; analyzed in the Grade system. Results: 60% (6/10) are from Spain, 20% (2/10) from the United States, 10% (1/10) from Argentina, and 10% (1/10) from Costa Rica. By design, 80% (8/10) were systematic reviews, 10% (1/10) systematic review and meta-analysis, and 10% (1/10) bibliographic review. Conclusion: 20% (2/10) found effectiveness in the five-level hospital triage models, 30% (3/10) found effectiveness in the Manchester hospital triage, 10% (1/10) found effectiveness in the Canadian hospital triage, 10% (1/10) did not find effectiveness in hospital triage models; 10% (1/10) shows effectiveness of pediatric hospital triage models; 10% (1/10) found effectiveness in extrahospital triage models, and 10% (1/10) did not find effectiveness in extrahospital triage models.
