Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge about percutaneous catheter care and practice in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Huaraz - 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-02-13) Panana Tarazona, Evelyn Victoria; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaThe neonatal period is the most vulnerable period for the survival of children, as, according to global statistics, they have the highest risk of dying in the first month after birth. Currently, a large number of children with birth weight problems or serious illnesses require long-term treatment with intravenous access to ensure their survival. In addition, neonatal veins are of small caliber, making percutaneous catheters one of the main instruments for critically ill neonates. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice regarding the care of the percutaneous catheter in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Huaraz - 2021. The inquiry manuscript presented has a quantitative approach. It is also applied, and regarding its design, it is cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational. The sample was determined by convenience due to limited access to sampling, and a non-probability sample of 45 individuals was intentionally selected for examination. For this study, a survey will be used as a technique, with two questionnaires as instruments, having a Cronbach's alpha coefficient greater than 0.7, demonstrating acceptable consistency.
