    Critical review: nutritional management of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic kidney disease

    The diabetes is associated with a high risk of death due to kidney disease; therefore, it is crucial to describe nutritional indicators. This critical review is titled: CRITICAL REVIEW: NUTRITIONAL MANAGEMENT OF PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS AND CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE. The main objective was to evaluate nutritional indicators to reduce diabetes levels in patients with kidney diseases. The clinical question was: What is the nutritional management and complications caused by diabetes in a renal patient? This critical review used one of the methodologies called Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE). The information was retrieved from various publications, and a total of 20 articles were found, which were evaluated using the (CASPE) tool for critical reading. The article titled 'Hidden Kidney Disease in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus' was selected, possessing a level of evidence and Recommendation Grade I, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical commentary concluded that studies indicate that the treatment of type II diabetes, with appropriate and timely glycemic control, is essential depending on the dosage and treatment duration.
