Overkill, homicide over murder; is a form of homicide in which the victim subjected to multiple injuries, beyond those necessary to cause his death. This modality has characteristics that distinguish it from other types of homicides, due to the multiplicity of injuries inflicted on the victim, these tend to be especially violent and generate an impact on society, because it poses significant challenges for investigators and specialists in the legal and forensic field, in cases where signs of violence are detected, in order to obtain a clearer picture of the incidence and characteristics of this type of homicide. Through this investigation, using an application method, quantitative approach and presents a nonexperimental design, taking into account the sampling of 80 tax folders for investigation of the crime of homicide in the period of 2022 - 2023 in the Fiscal District of Callao. Once this data was collected, it was examined using SPSS software version 26. Also, for the hypothesis test we worked with the Pearson coefficient to describe the quantitative variables, the Chi Square analysis to relate the qualitative variables, Student in order to compare two groups and Anova for comparison in groups of two or more; having as a result 100% of the analyzed samples a directly proportional relationship between the use of explosive projectile with the number of injuries produced in the cranial cavity, chest cavity and abdominal cavity.
