    The objective of this research work was “To determine the relationship that exists between occupational risks and the professional performance of nurses in the surgical center area of the PNP Luis N. Sáenz National Hospital.” It is a quantitative, hypothetical-deductive and correlational study. There was the collaboration of 80 nursing professionals, the result was that there is a statistically significant relationship between levels of occupational risk and professional performance with a Chi Square test p of 0.000, likewise the majority of nurses classified themselves as. with a high professional performance with 66.7%. As the risk level increases, there appears to be a decrease in the proportion of nurses reporting high professional performance, especially notable in the high-risk group. This could be interpreted as a greater perception of occupational risk, there could be a negative impact on the perception of professional performance.
