Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of blood pressure measurement performed by physicians versus measurement by nurses in the timely identification of pathologies(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-12-16) Peralta López, Billy Brayams; Quispe Coronel, Janet; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of blood pressure measurement performed by doctors versus measurement by nurses in the timely identification of pathology. Materials and Methods: The type of research was quantitative, the study design was a systematic review, the population was 35 articles, and the sample was 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases, the instrument was a search based of data: Cochrane Library, Scielo British Medical Journal, PubMed, Lancet, Wiley Online Library and EBSCO, to evaluate the articles the GRADE method was used which evaluated the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: 100% of the articles, 20% correspond to the United Kingdom, 10% to Chile, 10% to Spain, 30% to the USA, and 30% to Brazil. In relation to the designs and types of studies, 20% cross-sectional observational study, 10% cross-sectional descriptive study, 20% systematic review and 50% quasi-experimental. Conclusions: 70% of the studies show that the measurement of blood pressure is more effective than that carried out by nursing staff because this procedure is performed on a daily basis and is within their training, it reduces the gown effect and that it is purely a nurse's procedure and that the medical professional has errors in the blood pressure results. And 20% show that blood pressure measurement should be carried out by medical personnel because they have sufficient knowledge to do it. 10% of the evidence indicates that both professionals should measure blood pressure.
