Ítem Acceso abierto [RETRACTADO]Autocuidado y calidad de vida en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 que se atienden en una clínica privada del Cercado de Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-28) Pereira Acevedo, Sergio Marcelo; Camarena Chamaya, Luis MiguelThe objective was "to determine how self-care is related to quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus treated in a private clinic in Cercado de Lima, 2023". Methodology: hypothetical deductive method, quantitative approach, non-experimental, applied, cross-sectional and correlational design, without intervention. The convenience sample consisted of 80 patients. The instruments were two questionnaires designed by Luque and Villanueva in 2020, validated by expert judgment and with Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.984 for self-care and 0.886 for quality of life. The data were coded and entered in an Excel database and analyzed with SPSS 25. Results: 8.8% of the patients have very adequate self-care and in its dimensions 53.8% of the patients have an inadequate level of nutrition and 60.0% of the patients have an inadequate level of physical activity. In the second variable, 53.8% of the patients have a poor level of quality of life. Conclusion: It is determined that there is a statistically significant relationship between self-care and quality of life of adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus; obtaining a very good positive correlation coefficient, since it presented a (Rho= 0.912; p < ,001), which allowed the null hypothesis to be rejected and the alternative hypothesis to be accepted.
