Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about natural disasters and capacity to respond to an earthquake of the nursing staff in the emergency service of the regional hospital of Ica(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-10-15) Peve Sayritupac, Marilyn Milagros; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaIntroduction: The World Health Organization (WHO) states that a natural disaster occurs when the natural phenomenon causes considerable damage to people; in the Ica region it has left 548 dead and 400 thousand affected, in which it is necessary the knowledge that is put into practice with the response capacity of the nursing before, during and after the events that allow the efficient care to patients and health personnel. Objective: To determine how the level of knowledge about natural disasters and the response capacity to an earthquake of nursing staff in the emergency service of the regional hospital of Ica, year 2023, are related. Method: The research will be hypothetical – deductive, quantitative, applied, non-experimental, descriptive – correlational and cross-sectional method, in addition for convenience a sample of 74 nursing professionals who attend in the emergency area of a Hospital in the Ica Region was chosen in 2023. To measure knowledge about natural disasters, the questionnaire developed and validated in Peru by Ms. Deysi Medina and Mr. Leodan Pusma will be used, which consists of 3 dimensions and 29 items. To measure the variable response capacity to an earthquake, the instrument designed by the National Institute of Civil Defense, adapted and validated to the Peruvian reality by Edith Hurtado and Gyelisa Rios, which consists of 10 dimensions and 23 items, will be used.
