Ítem Acceso abierto Mother's knowledge about complementary feeding and its relationship with the nutritional status of children aged 6-12 months at the La Arboleda Health Post, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-02-26) Pillaca Chávez, Karina Nelly; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaComplementary feeding (CF), consisting of gradually and progressively feeding foods other than breast milk, should be initiated at 6 months of age. The aim of CA is to meet the child's nutritional needs, to promote mother-child bonding, to help the newborn in the transition from a liquid diet to one for family consumption, and to promote the development of healthy eating habits. It is crucial that the mother has the necessary understanding and eating habits to accomplish this task. Objective: To determine the mother's knowledge of complementary feeding and its relationship with the nutritional status of children aged 6-12 months at the La Arboleda-Lima Health Post, 2022. Methodology: Hypothetical deductive method, applied, quantitative, non-experimental-correlational, cross-sectional research. The population consisted of 90 mothers with children under one year of age. The technique to be used will be the survey and an observation guide, and a questionnaire and an evaluation sheet as instruments respectively for the two study variables. Said instrument was validated by the work of Cajamalqui and Huancaya (2018) with their work entitled "Mothers' level of knowledge about complementary feeding and its relationship with the nutritional status of children aged 6 to 12 months in the La Libertad Huancayo Health Center 2017". The data analysis, will be done through descriptive statistics, which will allow determining the general characteristics of the population which will be presented in simple and contingency tables containing absolute frequencies and percentages.
