Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge and practice on the administration of oxygen therapy by nursing professionals in the neonatal intensive care unit.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-08-21) Pintado Sovia, Maria Mercedes; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoPremature births are increasing worldwide. According to statistical sources, around 15 million births occur before 37 weeks of gestation. Furthermore, births before 33 weeks pose a particular risk, especially in developing countries. The objective of this study is to 'Determine how the level of knowledge is related to the practice of oxygen therapy administration by nursing professionals in the neonatal intensive care unit.' The hypothetical-deductive method will be used, with a quantitative approach because the described variables will be measurable and represented through statistical tables. The research type is applied, and a correlational, non-experimental, cross-sectional design will be used. The sample will consist of 80 nurses from the intensive care unit of Alberto Sabogal Sologuren Hospital. Two validated instruments will be used: a questionnaire for the first variable and an observation guide for the second variable. Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 26 will be used to process and analyze the data. Additionally, the non-parametric chi-square test will be applied for hypothesis testing, aiming to relate two variables. The results will be presented in tables and/or graphs.
