Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of sealing high-flow central venous catheter with antimicrobials and anticoagulants vs sealing with anticoagulant in the prevention of infections(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-22) Piscoya Paulino, Mariela Patricia; Sosa Vilcachagua, Gladys Alicia; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleObjective: Systematize the studies found regarding the difference between sealing with antimicrobial and anticoagulant solutions vs. sealing with anticoagulant for the prevention of high-flow central venous catheter infections. Materials and Methods: the search was restricted to studies of complete accessibility, articles that in total were 10 were classified according to high and moderate quality of evidence, and/or according to the type of study. 20% correspond to meta-analysis studies, 50% to systematic reviews, both types of studies with high evidence and strength of recommendation. 50% corresponds to Spain, 20% corresponds to the US and Chile, 10% corresponds to China. Results: 50% reported that the exclusive use of antibiotics reduces the risk of high-flow catheter infection, 30% reported that the use of antibiotics plus anticoagulant not only reduces the risk of catheter infection but also prevents dysfunctional catheters. and 10% that the use of antibiotics to seal the catheter favors antibiotic resistance. Conclusions: Seals with solutions containing antibiotics and antimicrobials are more effective in preventing high flow catheter infection, but if an anticoagulant is added they are better.Ítem Acceso abierto Patient safety culture and the relationship with the prevention of adverse events by nursing staff who work in the emergency area in a clinic in Metropolitan Lima, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-27) Piscoya Paulino, Mariela Patricia; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleThe patient safety culture in the emergency area must have staff who are aware of their work both with the patient and with their colleagues, always aiming for teamwork to minimize errors by chance that may harm the patient. As is known, an adverse event is damage or an unexpected outcome to the patient's well-being, associated with healthcare. It may be caused by errors or unexpected responses from the body. Objective: To relate the patient safety culture and the prevention of adverse events by nursing staff in the emergency area of a clinic in Metropolitan Lima. Material and Method: The approach will be quantitative, non-experimental, observational type with a descriptive correlational design and cross-sectional. The population will consist of 25 health professionals, including registered nurses and nursing technicians working within the Metropolitan Lima area. To measure the level of knowledge, a questionnaire and observation, developed by Natali Roxana Mori Yachas, will be applied, with adequate validity of 0.89 and reliability of 0.79 measured by Cronbach's Alpha. For the evaluation of care, observation will be used, and a checklist developed by Natali Mori, with validity of 0.86 and reliability of 0.78, will be applied. The instruments will be administered in person, after prior administration of informed consent. A descriptive and correlational statistical analysis will be performed.
