Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge of the nursing professional's handwashing practice and its relationship with nosocomial infections in the Intensive Care Unit of a National Hospital in Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-08-13) Pizarro Barrenechea, Diana Roxana; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaIntroduction: Hand washing is a clinical procedure, easy to apply and without any economic cost, where all health personnel from the different hospital areas are committed to complying with proper hand washing, in order to avoid complications that affect the health of the people and of the health personnel themselves, generating intrahospital infections. For this reason, the world health organization established the steps of hand washing, as well as the 5 moments, which must be applied by all the people who are in contact with the patients and in this way reduce the bacterial load found in our hands. Objective: To identify how the practice of hand washing in the Nursing professional affects Intrahospital Infections. Methods: The present study has a type of applied, correlational, quantitative approach research. The population consists of 50 nursing professionals from the Intensive Care Unit. The technique will be the interview and the instrument the questionnaire with prior informed consent.
