Critisc Review: Effectiveness of Omega 3 Supplementation and Markers of Inflammation in Adult Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in Hemodialysis

Nutritional intervention is the fundamental pillar in health for the treatment of different diseases. The present secondary research titled as a critical review: Effectiveness of omega-3 supplementation and inflammation markers in adult patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis, had the objective of improving nutritional quality of patients with renal failure on hemodialysis. The clinical question was: Will nutritional intervention (with oral omega 3 supplements) improve the nutritional quality of patients with stage 5 chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, COCHRANE, finding 61 articles, 11 being selected that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the prospective Randomized and double-blind Clinical Trial entitled Oral supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids and inflammation markers in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis. Which has an AI level of evidence and Strong Recommendation Degree, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical comment allowed us to conclude that. Oral supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids produces a significant decrease in the concentrations of inflammatory markers in patients with chronic kidney disease on hemodialysis
