Ítem Acceso abierto Overload level and coping strategies in the main caregiver of patients with schizophrenia in a hospital in Lima, 2020.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-10-04) Plácido Oscco, Martín Luis; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoThe World Health Organization (WHO) defines schizophrenia as a disorder with impaired mental function, severely hindering introspection and the ability to face ordinary life demands or maintain contact with reality. According to the Ministry of Health (MINSA), in 2018, 65.4% of outpatient consultations at the National Institute of Mental Health were for patients aged 20-44 years, with women being more frequent, although 55.8% were men who sought treatment for schizophrenia, making it the most common diagnosis in that area. Objective: To determine the relationship between caregiver burden and coping strategies in primary caregivers of patients with schizophrenia at a hospital in Lima, 2020. Materials and methods: This is a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional study of the causal-correlational type. Data collection will involve a survey using the Zarit caregiver burden scale and the Coping Strategy Inventory (CSI).
