    Knowledge and practice of nurses in the management of polytraumatized patients due to traffic accidents in a hospital in Metropolitan Lima, 2022

    Introduction: Currently, traffic accident statistics have increased worldwide, this amounts to 70%, data that constantly alarm the population. Within the Andean community, an average of 12 thousand deaths and 116 injuries from polytrauma are reported, the cause of many deaths. This activity of care for patients with polytrauma by frontline health personnel is not well developed or updated, which does not certify good care for patients with these characteristics. Methods: The research was developed based on the hypothetical deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied-non-experimental type of correlational design. Data collection instruments of the study variables will be applied to a population of 30 nurses from the emergency service of a hospital in Metropolitan Lima.
