Material and methods: The present systematic review consists of 10 scientific articles on the effectiveness of the use of music in adult patients after surgery with general anesthesia. These evidences were obtained from the following databases Pubmed, Epistemonikos, Scielo, Elsevier, Cochrane Plus and Google scholar. According to the Grade System we can show that 100% (10/10) of studies were of high quality. The Systematic Review was the study design used in 90% (9/10) of the investigations; The meta-analysis followed with 10% (1/10). Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 100% (10/10) demonstrate that the use of music in post-operative adult patients is effective in reducing post-operative pain. Conclusions: Of the 10 articles reviewed, all 10 show the effectiveness of the use of music therapy in the management of postoperative pain in adult patients with general anesthesia.
