Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge about pain management in newborns and attitude of the nursing professional in the neonatal intensive care unit of a public hospital in Arequipa, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-07) Puma Pérez, Maritza Elizabeth; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioPain in newborns throughout history has not been taken into account. This may be due to the inability of the neonate to express pain, which does not mean that he/she does not experience and remember it. As science has advanced, so have the scales for assessing pain in the neonate, and it is the nursing personnel who are called upon to handle these scales. The present research work aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge that nursing staff has about pain in the newborn and their attitude towards it in a public hospital in the city of Arequipa in the year 2024. The present work has a quantitative approach, with a hypothetical-deductive method, applied, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional design, in which we will work with a population of 80 nurses working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a state hospital in the city of Arequipa. The results that will be obtained will be collected using previously validated instruments, then they will be processed, coded and entered into a database that will be designed in the Excel program, likewise the results obtained will be analyzed and synthesized through the statistical software SPSS version 26.0.
