Materials and Methods: The type and design of the study was quantitative and systematic review respectively, 10 scientific articles made up the population and sample, of 100%, 40% correspond to Spain, 10% correspond to the United Kingdom, 10% Uruguay, 10 % Paraguay, 10% USA, 10% Mexico and 10% Iran. 70% corresponds to a clinical trial, 20% corresponds to a descriptive study and 10% to a retrospective observational study, in relation to the design and type of study. Results: We found in 100% (10/10) of the studies that the use of ultrasound was effective. Conclusions: It was concluded that the use of ultrasound in the placement of catheters for hemodialysis in patients with chronic renal failure is effective, because it has significant beneficial effects, being successful on the first attempt, reducing the risk of arterial puncture and hematomas. , in addition to facilitating the insertion of central lines, reducing complications for the operators who perform the punctures, as well as reducing morbidity and helping with difficult punctures.
