Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional intelligence in students of the seventh and eighth nursing cycle of the Norbert Wiener private university(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-05-11) Quintanilla Chilquillo, Fiama Yasbell; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeThe following research aims to determine the Emotional Intelligence of students from the 7th and 8th nursing cycles at the Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener. The method used was a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive study. The population consists of 80 students, and the instrument used was the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS-24), which contains 24 items divided into three dimensions: Emotional Perception, Understanding of Emotions, and Emotional Regulation. The results showed that out of 100% (80 students), 80% (64 students) exhibited adequate emotional intelligence, followed by 18.8% (15 students) with low emotional intelligence, and 1.2% (1 student) with high emotional intelligence. Regarding the dimensions, in the Emotional Perception dimension, 80% showed adequate emotional intelligence, followed by 17.5% with low emotional intelligence and 2.5% with high emotional intelligence. In the Understanding of Emotions dimension, 85% exhibited adequate emotional intelligence, 15% showed low emotional intelligence, and finally, in the Emotional Regulation dimension, 77.5% demonstrated adequate emotional intelligence, followed by 18.8% with low emotional intelligence, and 3.7% with high emotional intelligence. The conclusion drawn is that the students exhibited adequate emotional intelligence.
