Ítem Acceso abierto Safe disinfection processes in the sterilization center(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Pupuche Villavicencio, María Danesse; Quiroz Pedemonte, Luz Antonia; Gómez Gonzales, Walter EdgarObjective: To establish safe disinfection processes in the sterilization center. Materials and Methods: Systematic reviews are an observational and retrospective study design that synthesizes the results of multiple primary studies. They are a core component of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific clinical practice questions. Results: In the final selection, 9 articles were chosen. We found that 55.5% (5) were from Brazil, 22.2% (2) were from Peru, and 11.1% (1) were from Colombia. A systematic review from Brazil constituted 11.1%. Cross-sectional studies were from Bogotá, Peru, and Brazil, while experimental studies came from Japan. Conclusions: The cleaning and disinfection process of endoscopes was not effective. The high-level disinfectant (2% glutaraldehyde) was ineffective after the tenth day of activation. High-level disinfection procedures were not optimally performed, with 6.7% of cultures showing positive results for various species of Pseudomonas. The luminometer is an instrument that allows the objective evaluation of quality control in disinfection processes in operating rooms.
