The main objective of the research project was "To determine the relationship between stress and job performance in workers at the San Pablo Clinic, Cusco 2023". For this, the methodology used was based on the deductive method, with a quantitative research approach, at an applied descriptive level, being the non-experimental design. The population consisted of 100 clinic workers. We used the survey technique, applying 01 questionnaire to measure the stress variable and 01 questionnaire to measure the job performance variable. Taking as a basis the results of Rho Speraman, emotional exhaustion was obtained as a result (r = − 0.379; p < 0.001)), this means that there is a moderate negative correlation between emotional exhaustion and job performance, as emotional exhaustion increases, job performance decreases; in relation to personal fulfillment (r = 0.294; p = 0.003) there is a weak positive correlation, as personal fulfillment increases, job performance also increases slightly; And finally, in depersonalization there is a moderate negative correlation (r=−0.359, p<0.001), suggesting that a higher emotional detachment also significantly reduces job performance.
