Level of knowledge of biosafety measures and the application of nursing practice in the Intensive Care Unit at the Lima 2023 hospital

In the year 2023, biosafety is the application of preventive safety measures and standards aimed at avoiding occupational incidents involving ICU Nursing Graduates of the Hipolito Unanue National Hospital; therefore, in nursing care, it is necessary to cultivate knowledge of biosafety and commitment to biosafety standards. The primary objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and biosafety practices of licensed nurses in the intensive care unit of the Hipólito Unanue Hospital in 2023; this hospital is located at 1390 César Vallejo Avenue in the district of El Agustino, Lima. The research methodology is quantitative, descriptive, observational and correlational, cross-sectional. The population consisted of 70 nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of this hospital in Lima; in order to obtain accurate and reliable data on the study variables, the sample was collected using inclusion and exclusion criteria. The survey method was used for the investigation by means of two duly validated questionnaires; the first questionnaire measures biosafety knowledge, while the second measures biosafety practice among licensed nurses working in the intensive care unit of the Hipólito Unanue Hospital.
