    Functional capacities and low cognitive levels in older adults lead to a deterioration in their quality of life, routine activities, and the development of functional dependence. Therefore, preventive methods for the development of these activities are recommended. This study aims to determine the relationship between functional capacity and cognitive deterioration in older adults. It will employ an applied, correlational, and cross-sectional methodology, using the "Barthel Index" to measure functional capacity and the "Mini-Mental State Examination" to measure cognitive deterioration, with a population of 80 older adults.
