An observational and prospective study was conducted. A total of 151 patients aged 18-60 years with the presence of gingival recession were evaluated. The chi-square test was applied in the analysis. By sex, 42.6% of the patients with dentin hypersensitivity due to gingival recession were male, and 57.4% were female (p>0.05). Regarding age group, dentin hypersensitivity due to gingival recession was most frequent in the 41 to 55-year-old group (37.4%), followed by 25.2% in the 26 to 40-year-old group (p≤0.05). According to pain intensity and the group of dental pieces examined with dentin hypersensitivity due to gingival recession, mild pain was found to be most frequent in the incisors (49.6%), followed by 37.4% in canines, premolars, and molars. Regarding periodontal recession class and the group of dental pieces examined, class I was most frequent in the incisors (36.4%), followed by 27.8% in canines, premolars, and molars.
