Sociofamily factors associated with the nutritional status of elderly adults hospitalized in a private clinic in Lima-2023

The present investigation has had as a general objective to determine the relationship between the socio-family factors associated with the nutritional status of the elderly hospitalized in a private clinic in Lima-2023, for which a hypothetical deductive method has been used, in addition to a quantitative and a type of applied research, as well as a nonexperimental design. The sample consisted of 90 older adults. The instruments used were the Socio-Family Assessment Scale and the Mini Nutritional Assessment to assess nutritional status. The results yielded a value of p= <.05; as well as a coefficient -.803 derived from Spearman's Rho statistic; Regarding the dimensions, it was possible to know a significance of p= 0.000 on the family situation dimension of the socio-family factors associated with the nutritional status of the elderly; Likewise, a bilateral significance of p= 0.000 was verified between the economic situation dimension of the socio-family factors associated with nutritional status; Similarly, a significance of p=.000 was found between the housing dimension of the socio-family factors associated with nutritional status; In addition to this, a significance of p=.000 was found between the social relations dimension of the socio-family factors associated with nutritional status; Lastly, a significance of p=.000 was found between the social network support dimension of the socio-family factors associated with nutritional status. It was possible to conclude that socio-family factors are related to the nutritional status of older adults hospitalized in the private clinic in Lima
