ROB. & Brettell "Ala de murciélago"(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-05-29) Quispe Pilco, David Francisco; Condori Bobadilla, Johanna Paola; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraIn this research, the leaves of Munnozia hastifolia (Poepp.) H. Rob. & Brettell, or "Ala de murciélago," were collected. To determine the analgesic activity, the 0.8% glacial acetic acid-induced abdominal writhing model was used. The plant extract was used at concentrations of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg, with Paracetamol Q.P. 300 mg/kg and Tramadol 40 mg/kg as comparative standards. To determine the anti-inflammatory effect, the 1% albumin-induced plantar edema method was used. The study groups included a negative control, ibuprofen 400 mg/kg, dexamethasone 1 mg/kg, and three concentrations of the extract at doses of 200, 400, and 600 mg/kg. The treatment lasted 6 hours, with a measurement taken every hour. Results showed that the hydroalcoholic extract at doses of 50, 100, and 200 mg/kg demonstrated analgesic activity of 34.1%, 42.1%, and 76.2%, respectively. None of the doses were superior to tramadol (88.3%), but the 200 mg/kg concentration (76.2%) was comparable to paracetamol (80.38%). Regarding anti-inflammatory activity, the extract at all three doses (200, 400, and 600 mg/kg) showed an anti-inflammatory effect. The 600 mg/kg dose was the first treatment to return to its basal state (0% inflammation in 3h), followed by the 400 mg/kg dose, which took an additional hour to reach the same state (4h), a time similar to the comparative treatment dexamethasone 1mg/kg. The 200 mg/kg dose and ibuprofen 400 mg/kg still presented 3.1% and 2.8% inflammation, respectively, at the end of the treatment.
